At Move4 Physio, we understand that life after a traumatic brain injury (TBI) can feel uncertain—but with the right support, recovery is possible.
Whether your injury was recent or occurred months or years ago, our neurological physiotherapists are here to help you improve movement, rebuild function, and work towards your goals at your own pace. No two injuries are the same—so neither is our approach.
TBI is caused by a blow or trauma to the head that affects how the brain works. It can range from mild (concussion) to severe, and often leads to a wide range of physical, cognitive and emotional changes.
Common physical symptoms include:
Muscle weakness or coordination difficulties
Balance and postural problems
Poor walking pattern or mobility
Fatigue and reduced stamina
Spasticity or joint stiffness
Visual or sensory changes
Difficulty with transfers and daily tasks
Our specialist neuro physios work with you to:
✅ Improve balance, walking, and coordination
✅ Regain strength, control, and flexibility
✅ Manage tone, spasticity, and joint range
✅ Reduce falls risk and improve confidence
✅ Adapt movements for daily independence
✅ Work alongside speech, OT, and cognitive rehab teams
✅ Support your family or carers in the rehab journey
We start with a detailed assessment of your movement, symptoms, environment, and goals. From there, we create a tailored rehab programme, which may include:
Gait re-education and walking practice
Functional strength and core stability exercises
Balance and posture retraining
Tone and spasticity management
Mobility and transfer techniques
Energy conservation and fatigue support
Education for carers and family members
Whether your goal is to walk unaided, return to sport, or simply feel more stable moving around your home, we’re here to guide you.
We offer home-based brain injury physiotherapy in Northampton and nearby areas. This is ideal if you or your loved one is recovering at home, has limited mobility, or finds travel tiring.
We often work in partnership with NHS brain injury rehab teams, speech and language therapists, OTs and case managers. Our goal is always to provide joined-up, consistent care that keeps you at the centre.
