Sports Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Northampton
Pilates Classes now scheduled at Move4 Physio Northampton
Starting on Monday 18th February @ 9.30am
It's something we have had a lot of interest about since we opened, and now we have managed to get them up and running!!
Pilates is a form of exercise which seems to have grown and grown in popularity in the last decade. It is now the go to class for a lot of people who have either suffered with hip, back or neck problems, but more commonly, just people who want to stay in shape and focus on stability, balance and strength around their back and pelvis.
Pilates is a form of exercise widely endorsed by physiotherapists, and in fact we have traditionally referred a wide variety of clients to use this core stability focussed class as a treatment for their issues.
It seems silly that it has taken us this long to getting around to organising our pilates classes, given the fact that we have 3 pilates instructors in our ranks, Mel, Leian and Kiera. Leian is extremely experienced as both a physiotherapist and a pilates instructor, Kiera is used to keeping the lads at Northampton Saints RFC in check whilst putting them through their paces, is also a physiotherapist and pilates instructor. Mel is well versed in group exercise, having taught many different types of classes throughout her career. Pilates is the thing she is most passionate about, and she can’t wait to get up and running with the classes here at Move4.
We feel bringing pilates and physiotherapy together has a big impact upon what we can offer you, and this specialist service is something we’re proud to announce.
Pilates classes lead by a physiotherapist are perfect for those of you who may feel like you want to take part, but aren't sure if you will end up hurting yourself. Leian, Kiera and Mel have a deep understanding of the anatomy, and the mechanics of the body. This knowledge will help them monitor and modify the exercises they give you in order to ensure you get the most out of the class, and avoid any unnecessary injuries.
If you have been put off going to classes because of a bad experience, and you felt the level wasn't appropriate to your ability, then this is the class for you.
Each class will last just under 60 minutes, and a block of 6 classes costs just £72 (£12 per class) . We feel this is great value, given your access to experienced physiotherapists, and high quality pilates instruction. If this is your first class with us here at Move4, you will be entitled to a free physio assessment beforehand to ensure that the exercises given during the class are completely appropriate to your needs.
The first class will begin at 9.30am on February 18th!!
